Camps during summer 2026
The camp schedule is now published. Registration for the camps is open, and continues until the camps are full, or, if there are available spots during summer, up until the start of each camp throughout the summer. You can find the application form at the end of this page.
You can see which camps are getting full via our social media posts, or asking us directly.

Camps for Children ages 7-12
Kuru Children’s Camps are designed for primary school-aged children. At these camps, kids enjoy the summer through a fun and varied program, while also practicing self-care and social skills. The activities include plenty of swimming, playing games together, goofing around with friends and counselors, and having a blast at Särkänniemi amusement park.
Camps for Youth (11-14 / 12-15 / 14-17)
Kuru Youth Camps are the best way to spend a summer week with fun company, a relaxed program, and a trip to Särkänniemi! Compared to the children’s camps, youth camps offer more choices in activities and plenty of free time for chatting, gaming, and hanging out together. At Kuru youth camps, the focus is on creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and making new friends. The highlight of the camp is the fun summer festival.
First timers / Minis, ages 6-8
The Junior Camp for 6–8-year-olds is a four-day camp designed for first-timers and younger campers. The camp focuses on providing a safe and encouraging environment as well as fun camping experiences. There is no shared transportation for the return trip, and the camp does not include a trip to Särkänniemi.
Themed Camps
Themed Camps are children’s camps where the program focuses on a specific theme. No prior experience or skills related to the theme are required – just an interest in the topic is enough! In addition to theme-related activities, the week also includes traditional camp program elements such as swimming and sauna, games and play, and cuddling animals. The camps include a day trip to Särkänniemi amusement park.
Nature Camp: Nature Camp is designed for children who are interested in the outdoors. At the camp, participants spend time in nature, practice outdoor and camping skills, and create art using natural materials.
Sports Camp: At Sports Camp, children get to try a variety of fun and playful games and sports under the guidance of our versatile instructors. The week is packed with physical activities and is best suited for children who are interested in a wide range of sports and movement-based activities.
Art Camp: At Art Camp, children get to explore a variety of creative activities, including visual arts, music, and crafts. Campers can also choose their favorite forms of art and spend time developing their skills and enjoying them.
Applying to our camps
Our camps use a two-step application process. Here’s how it works:
Step 1
The camper’s guardian applies for a camp place by filling out the application form (the form is only in Finnish at this time, but if you need help with the translations, we are more than happy to help. It is ok to fill in the answers is English aswell! Just send us a message at kurunleirit (a) gmail . com, and we will get back to you ). If a supported camp place is requested, this is indicated at this stage. Our staff will process the application within two weeks.
Step 2
We offer a camp place according to your preferences via email. The guardian confirms and accepts the place using the form included in the email. If the camper will use shared transportation, it is also indicated on this form. We send the invoice and camp information letter within three weeks of confirming the camp place.
Who can apply?
Children and youth aged 6–17 can apply for Kuru summer camps. You can read more about eligibility for a supported camp place on the Stea supported camps page. It is also possible to attend our camps without STEA funding.
Children or youth with special needs can also apply. However, our camp center is unfortunately not fully accessible, and we are unable to provide round-the-clock personal support. Campers must be able to independently manage tasks such as using the toilet, personal hygiene, and moving around the camp center’s varied terrain.
You can find our camp cancellation policy here.
