Children’s Summer Camp Association -76 ry

Kuru Summer Camps / Kurun kesäleiri (Children’s Summer Camp Association -76 ry / Lasten kesäleiriyhdistys -76 ry) is a non-profit holiday organization that organizes supported Summer Camps. Each year we organize 9-13 camps for kids ages 6 to 12 and youth ages 12 to 17. Our summer camp season begins at the beginning of June and lasts for 2 months until August. Every year 350 kids participate in our camps, which means a group of 20 to 50 campers for each summer camp.

Our camps take place at Kurun kesäleiri campsite in Ylöjärvi, 45 minute drive from Tampere. The campsite is located in beautiful Finnish countryside by the lake Näsijärvi.

Kurun kesäleiri summer camps are organized with a financial backing from STEA, Funding centre for Social Welfare and Health Organizations. This means that most of the participants attending our camps receive a STEA support, that is granted on financial, health and social grounds. The purpose of the supported holiday activity is to offer a holiday to children who could not otherwise have one. You may read more about the support here.

Our staff consists of Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director who work around the year and during the summer camp season we also have two teams of 10 employees, including 1 Camp Counselor Leader, 1 Camp Counselor Health Supervisor, 6 Camp Counselors and kitchen staff of 2 persons. The teams are taking turns on the campsite and work on every other camp. Our staff members are mostly students or professionals of education or social services.
